Man, woman accused of keeping kitten in duct-taped sandwich container SALT LAKE CITY (KTVX) – A man and woman are accused of torturing an animal after they allegedly put a kitten in a sandwich container and duct-taped it shut.Justin Epperson, 45, and Emily Allred, 41, were arrested early Monday morning in Cottonwood Heights, Utah, for torture of a companion animal and drug possession, court documents filed in Salt Lake County show. Family held at gunpoint in Rancho Cucamonga home invasion A Rancho Cucamonga family was held at gunpoint by two home-invasion robbers who remain on the loose Tuesday morning. Deputies responded to the robbery call in the 5800 block of Rolling Pasture Place around 12:30 a.m.Investigators determined that two armed male suspects entered the home and took property while holding the family at gunpoint, a spokesperson for the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department confirmed.It was unclear if anyone was injured in the robbery.The suspects had already fled the home when deputies arrived, the spokesperson said. Santa Ana homicide suspect captured, facing murder charge The suspect in the October shooting death of a man who was found in his car in Santa Ana has been captured and is facing a murder charge, police posted Monday.Santa Ana police were responding to a traffic collision in the 2300 block of West 5th Street on Oct. 8 when they found 26-year-old Gonzalo Carlos of Santa Ana suffering from a gunshot wound.Carlos was rendered medical aid by officers but died at the scene. Investigators later identified 22-year-old Adrian Ayala of Santa Ana as the suspect in the shooting and took him into custody on Dec. 6, the Police Department stated in their post. Two days later, the Orange County District Attorney's office filed a felony complaint against Ayala for murder, along with associated aggravating counts related to the crime. Ayala is in custody awaiting trial, police said. Anyone with further information was asked to call the Police Department at 714-245-8390 or Orange County Crime Stoppers at 1-855-TIP-OCCS.
